Pianist and composer Peter Hoerenz has one goal: create music that can cut through the noise of everyday life and meaningfully connect with listeners from all musical backgrounds.
Originally from Westchester, New York, Hoerenz studied jazz piano at Northwestern University under the mentorship of Chicago icon Jeremy Kahn. Since returning to New York in 2022, Hoerenz has been immersing himself in the bustling New York City jazz scene, which has culminated in his first major project, an EP entitled Overture, released on May 16, 2025.

He has shared the stage with artists such as Victor Goines, Sherman Irby, Kenny Washington (vocalist), Brianna Thomas, Paul Gill, and David Ambrosio, and has performed at several notable New York locations including Carnegie Hall, the Tarrytown Music Hall, The Jazz Forum, Winnie’s Jazz Bar, Melody’s Piano Bar, the BeanRunner Café, and Jazz at the Lodge. His compositions were also awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2019 National YoungArts Foundation Music Awards.
